See Roger Waters Visit Grandfathers Grave in Moving Wall Clip

One of the most moving scenes in Roger Waters The Wall finds the former Pink Floyd singer visiting the grave of his grandfather, George Henry Waters, who died while fighting in France during World War I. A clip of the scene, which comes via Ultimate Classic Rock, shows Watersreading the headstone then cuts back to reveal the singer standing with his children, looking down at the grave. Its been an ambition of mine to come here with you three, he says. Two great-grandsons, a great-granddaughter and a grandson. Daughter India Waters kneels and places flower petals on the soil.

The clip ends with India saying, You can plan to meet people in your dreams. Roger replies, Can you? Well, when you go to bed tonight, I want you to plan to meet George Henry in your dreams.

Earlier this year, Waters told Rolling Stone that he made the movies interstitial scenes, which connect footage of him performing Pink Floyds The Wall album around the world, without a script. Its all off the cuff, he said. Regarding this scene in particular, he added, I had no idea what I was going to say to the kids. We had no idea what we were going to talk about in the car or anything; its just what came out.

Roger Waters The Wall will come out on Blu-ray and DVD on December 1st. The soundtrack to the film, which comprises the music in the concert scenes and contains a dramatic rendition of Comfortably Numb, will come out on November 20th.
