Ricky Gervaisand Eric Bana fumble their way from a fake international crisis into a real one inthe new trailer for the Netflixmovie, Special Correspondents.
Gervaisand Bana play Ian Finch and Frank Bonneville, two floundering radio journalists,who pretend to be on the ground in Ecuador while actually reporting from an apartment above a restaurant in Queens, New York. With the help of a young couple played by America Ferrera and Raul Castillo, Finch and Bonneville end up faking a missile strikeand are forced to pretend theyve been captured by a group of rebels.
As their lie unravels, the U.S. government gets involved. Finchs wife (Vera Farmiga) uses thetragedy to launch her singing career and Finch and Bonneville are forced to sneak into Ecuador so that they can actuallybe found.
Special Correspondentswas written and directed by Gervais andalso stars Benjamin Bratt, Kevin Pollak and Kelly MacDonald. The film arrives on Netflix April 29th.
