Watch Tupac Shakur in Violent New All Eyez on Me Biopic Trailer

UPDATE: Lionsgate announced that All Eyez on Me will be released on June 16th, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The date coincides with what would have been Shakurs 46th birthday.

Tupac puts Dan Quayle on blast, talks loyalty with the Notorious B.I.G. and grapples with duty, temptation and violence. Its all in the the intense new trailer for All Eyez on Me, a biopic about the rapper who died 20 years ago today.

The first full clip opens with Pac (played by Demetrius Shipp, Jr.) unleashing a righteous and eerily prescient screed to an adoring crowd: Police kill innocent black folk every day and Quayles coming after me? But Im used to people coming at me. This shit been happening my whole life.

Set to an ominous soundtrack, the clip previews the myriad forces tugging at Tupac at the peak of his celebrity. Scenes of luxury and excess are mixed with outbursts of brutal violence as Tupac wrestles with threats from rivals (Loyalty is everything, he tells Notorious B.I.G. at one point), the police and the media.Like all black leaders, you have a bullseye on your back, Pacs mother, Afeni Shakur warns him. I aint no black leader, Pac spits back.

Along with Shipp, Jr., theAll Eyez on Mecast featuresDanai Gurira as Afeni Shakur, Dominic L. Santana as Suge Knight, Annie Ilonzeh as Kidada Jonesand Jamal Woolard as the Notorious B.I.G. (Woolard also played Biggie in the biopic Notorious).
