Katniss Flexes Her Archery Skills in the Final Catching Fire Trailer

The final trailer for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is now online, and it depicts Jennifer Lawrences character Katniss Everdeen preparing to reenter the arena to face even more bloodthirsty adversaries. The minute-long clip builds on longer glimpses of the sequel to the wildly popular 2012 movie Hunger Games. The movie follows Everdeen, victorious in the first film, as President Snow (Donald Sutherland) attempts to disparage and discredit her, leading her to take part in a serious competition.

The teaser opens by panning across a verdant hillside, as Snow provides a prescient narrative as he watches Everdeen on a screen: You fought very hard in the arena, but they were games. Would you like to be in a real war? From there, scenes include Everdeen flexing her archery skills and various looks of concern on Snows face. Theres also a particularly harrowing peek at a vicious standoff with what look like baboons.

This installment of the series, which is based on a trilogy of books by Suzanne Collins, will see cast additions of Philip Seymour Hoffman and Sam Claflin, who play, respectively, Gatekeeper Plutarch Heavensbee and Finnick Odair. Also notable about Catching Fire is the movies soundtrack, which contains, among other tracks, a new Christina Aguilera cut, We Remain, and a Coldplay song, Atlas, thats already winning awards.

The series has proven successful enough that producers have decided to split the third book in the trilogy, Mockingjay, into two installments. Although details are still scant for those films, its been revelealed that both Mockingjay installments will see the addition of Julianne Moore, who will play President Alma Coin of District 13. The first of those two films will come out in November 2014, while the final film is scheduled to hit theaters in November 2015.
