Ben Stiller had the opportunity to show off hisBeastie Boysfanboy status on Late Night With Seth Meyers when the hosttested the actors knowledge of the iconic rap groupslyrics.
Meyers notedthat Stiller, who stars in Noah Baumbachs upcoming film While Were Young with Adam Ad-Rock Horovitz, can be seen rapping along to every lyric in the groups 2006 concert film Awesome; I Fuckin Shot That!. I was definitely in it, commented Stiller during the segment.
The host then gave Stiller select lines from the hip-hop trios memorable catalog and asked the actor to complete the couplet. The While Were Young star succeeded in remembering lines from Root Down, Sure Shot, So Whatcha Want and Shake Your Rump.
While Were Young is not the first time Stiller has crossed paths with Ad-Rock. Before Beastie Boys blew up, Horovitz had been an aspiring actor, with the pair running into eachother at auditions. In 2008, Stiller joined the iconic group onstagefor a Rock the Vote tour, as he and Horovitz swapped places wearing the same clothes so Stiller could rap a verse from Root Down. Im a huge Beastie Boys fan, so doing that, for me, was beyond anything, revealed the actor.
While Were Young, in theaters March 27th, is Stillers second film with Baumbach after 2010s Greenberg. Horovitz plays Stillers best friend about an aging couple trying to stay cool alongsidetheir much younger neighbors.
