Watch Bill Murrays Bizarre Late Show Cameo


Bill Murray, a favorite guest of the Late Show With David Letterman, made his Late ShowWith Stephen Colbertdebut Friday with a bizarre, wordless cameo. During Colberts opening monologue, the host told a heartwarming story about a friendship between a penguin and an old man. Colbert then informed the crowd of the episodes guests, only to stop and berate a sleeping man in the front row for putting his feet up on the stage. That man was Bill Murray.

Excuse me sir, would you mind getting your feet off the stage for a second? I know you look tired but this is not a park bench, Colbert told the sleeping man whose hand was grappled to the jacket of the woman seated next to him. Murray then groggily awoke from his slumber, picked up an enormous suit bag and was accompanied by his new friend out of Colberts audience.

Murray last appeared at the Ed Sullivan Theatreduring Lettermans final episodeas host, joining an all-star collection of guests to read from the last Top Ten list; the actor was also Lettermans first guest when the host was at Late Nightand among his last on Late Show. Fans of Late Show can take solace that while Letterman has retired, Murray is still around to bless the show with oddball appearances.
