Watch Adam Driver, Stephen Colbert Create Surreal Public Access Show

Adam Driver might be a Hollywood star, but his roots are in small town Mishawaka, Indiana. During his Thursday Late Show appearance, the actor checked in on The Princess City with the surreal Community Calendar sketch, rattling off the towns upcoming events alongside host Stephen Colbert.

Situated awkwardly on a set recalling a bad public access show (orZack Galifianakis Between Two Ferns), Driver and Colbert took turns previewing the months activities throughout the greater Mishawaka metroplex everything from skiing to guessing animal skulls. You know what they say, Driver said, introducing the calendar: You can take the man out of Mishawaka, but the sprit of this town is something you cant Misha-waka way from.

Using stilted deliveries and forced smiles, the duo highlighted the Niles Elks Clubs montly fish fry and an Ask a Lawyer event at the local library. Heres a preview, Driver said of the latter. Go with the lawyer who doesnt hang out at the library giving free advice.

The most notable event was a David Bowie tribute concert featuring local musicians. Performers will be dressed as Bowie, Driver noted. So be warned: You will be seeing the outline of your choir teachers junk. Ground control to Major Schlong.'

Driver was on set promoting his latest film, the Martin Scorsese-directed Silence, which opens throughout the U.S. on January 13th.
