Watch Bonnie Raitts Bluesy INXS Cover on Kimmel

Bonnie Raitt turned INXS Need You Tonight into a gritty blues tune on Jimmy Kimmel LiveMonday.

Alongside her band, Raitt scuffed up the new wave sheen of the 1987 original with a swampy groove, while delivering a throaty vocal performance still smokey enough to be reminiscent of Michael Hutchences sultry hush. Of course, Raitt also laced the song with a bevy of slide licks and traded solos with guitarist George Marinelli and keyboardist Mike Finnigan.

Raitts cover of Need You Tonight appears on her latest album, Dig In Deep, which was released in February. The LP follows her 2012 effortSlipstreambut marks her first with new material in over a decade.

Raitt and her band are on the road in support of Dig In Deep, and have an array of North American dates lined up through early November.
