See Twin Peaks Creator Read Log Lady Eulogy

Twin Peaks co-creator Mark Frost will publish a new bookin October, The Secret History of Twin Peaks, whichuses one unknown characters dossier to delve into the mysterious, fictional town. At an appearance at theOjai Valley Museum last Sunday, Frost read an excerpt from the book, in which Margaret Lanterman a.k.a. the Log Lady eulogizes her friend Robert, who is another character featured in the book.

The speech is brief and touching. There is much we cannot see, Frost said.Air, for instance. Most of the time. But knowing our next breath will follow our last without fail is an act of faith, is it not?

The Secret History of Twin Peaks is a dossier collected by an unknown character whose identity is revealed at the end of the book. For instance, the Log Ladys eulogy is not the speech itself, but rather the characters notes written on the funeral program. That program, as well as all the other documents in the dossier, will be recreated and printed in the book.

The Secret History of Twin Peaks is available to pre-orderahead of its October 18th release. Frost and co-creator David Lynch are also at work on the highly-anticipated series revival, with Twin Peaks scheduled to return to Showtime in 2017. Lynch will directthe new episodes, while much of the shows original cast including stars Kyle MacLachlan and Sherilyn Fenn are scheduled to reprise their roles. The Log Lady, however, will not return, as actress Catherine Coulson diednot long afterproduction began.
