Watch A-Rod Reveal the Secret to His Success: Hating Jimmy Fallon

Alex Rodriguezs 2015 Image-Rehabilitation Tour has been a resounding success. Coming off a yearlong suspension for PEDs not to mention a number of surgeries on his hip and knee the 40 year old appeared headed down the slippery slope to irrelevance. Instead, he dropped a handwritten apology letter to fans, smacked 33 home runs, joined the exclusive 3,000 hit club and moved closer to catching Hank Aaron and Babe Ruth on MLBs all-time RBI list.

While Rodriguez says finding himself was one of the reasons for his resurgence, Yankees diehard Jimmy Fallon is willing to take full credit.

Rodriguez took a break from his side gig as World Series analyst for Fox and terrorizing the networks NFL Sunday set to appear on Thursdays Tonight Show. And when he wasnt giving his 20-year-old self advice about not kissing mirrors during photo shoots, he cleared the air with Fallon, whos convinced that Rodriguez hates him because he gets the cold shoulder whenever he attends a Yankees game.

When Derek Jeter would come by, hed look at me and give me the little Sup, how you doing, Jimmy the little tip of his cap, Fallon said to Rodriguez. You come out, you look at Lorne [Michaels], you give him the tip of the cap, and then you find me and you start swinging the bat as hard as you can.

Rodriguez says he remembers doing just that. His reason why, though, is pretty fair.

Im trying to figure out your loyalty, Rodriguez said. Its a little divided. Are you a Mets fan, a Yankees, Red Sox? Jimmy, which one is it?

Fallons response: Hes a Rangers, Mariners and Yankees fan, all of which is code for sucking up to Rodriguez. Maybe he is the key to Rodriguezs success, after all.
