Watch Nostalgic Stranger Things, Peanuts Animated Mashup

Whether viewers were reared on Peanuts characters, grew up with the Eighties vibes of Stranger Things or are just getting acquainted with that era through the Netflix hit, a new three-minute A Stranger Things Christmas video short offers some sweet nostalgia that should appeal to several generations.

Created by Leigh Lahav and Oren Mendez, the YouTube clip mashes up the characters from Stranger Things with the perennial holiday classic A Charlie Brown Christmas.

In their reconfiguration, Stranger Things characters take over the Peanuts-styled animation. The clip opens in the aftermath of Season One: Will Byers is the Charlie Brown of the video as he survives and returns from the Upside Down feeling blue. Linus is given curly locks to be transformed into Dustin and Eleven is manning Lucys Psychiatry booth. Dustin recommends Will try to seek counsel to overcome his depression from an ambivalent Eleven (her response to feel better? Eggos, naturally).

Meanwhile Wills mother Joyce responds to her sons sadness with typical Peanuts adult wah wah wah jargon. Other favorite Stranger Things characters also make appearances, and lets just say Snoopy isnt quite the adorable character Charles M. Schulz created in the new rendition. The clever video doesnt skip out on the Peanuts famous dance number, either, which is set to Stranger Things synth-laden theme song.

In August, Netflix renewed Stranger Things for a second season. Its set to premiere sometime in 2017.
