The Simpsons Plan Music-Themed Mini-Marathon on FXX


Last month, FXX celebrated their acquisition ofThe Simpsonsby airing a 12-day marathonof all 552 episodes destroying the networks ratings recordsin the process. And now, assuming the country isnt suffering fromSimpsonsfatigue, FXX is following with a music-themed, eight-episode marathon of the animated series starting at 8 p.m. onSeptember 11th.

As Variety reports, the mini-marathon is connected to the upcoming Simpsons Take the Bowl variety shows at the Hollywood Bowl, which will take place from September 12th-14th. Each of the eight episodes (including classics like the Conan OBrien-scripted Marge vs. the Monorail and Who Shot Mr. Burns? Part 2) all feature a tune set to be showcased during the Hollywood Bowl shows.

Simpsons Take the Bowl will celebrate all things Springfield assisted bya live orchestra, video clips, appearances fromSimpsonsvoice actors (including Hank Azaria) and a number of special guests (including Beverly DAngelo, Jon Lovitz and Weird Al Yankovic). Series creatorMatt Groening will be on hand to dish out behind-the-scenes anecdotes, and OBrien will even join the cast to perform The Monorail Song from his acclaimed 1993 episode.

The Simpsons26th season will premiere September 28th on Fox with the heavily anticipatedFamily Guycrossover episode, The Simpsons Guy.
