Twin Peaks co-creator and executive producer Mark Frost plans on publishing a book in late 2015 that will fill in fans of the show on everything thats happened to its characters since the series went off the air in 1991. The Secret Lives of Twin Peaks will also delve deeper into the shows original mystery, and resolve plot holes, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The book is timed to come out in advance of the shows return as a nine-episode, limited series on Showtime in 2016.
This has long been a dream project of mine that will bring a whole other aspect of the world of Twin Peaks to life, for old fans and new, Frost said in a statement. I couldnt be more thrilled.
The Secret Life of Twin Peaks will not be the first officially sanctioned Twin Peaks book. In 1990, Jennifer Lynch the daughter of series co-creator David Lynch released The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer, which gave an inside look at the thoughts of the character whose death sparked the original series central mystery; the book was reissued in 2011 with a new foreword by Frost and David Lynch.

Also, in 1991, around the time the show was canceled, Frosts brother Scott ghost-wrote The Autobiography of F.B.I. Special Agent Dale Cooper: My Life, My Tapes, which chronicled the life of the shows lead character, played by Kyle MacLachlan, from age 13 onward. Scott Frost also wrote some of the material that MacLachlan recorded for the cassette-only audiobook Diane The Twin Peaks Tapes of Agent Cooper, which came out in 1990.
The Twin Peaks resurgence was sparked when Frost and Lynch recognized a scene in the show when the Laura Palmer character, in a supernatural scene, said, Ill see you again in 25 years. Neither Frost nor Lynch have confirmed casting or plot-related details for the show, other than the fact that it will be set in the present day. It will go into production next year.
