Struggle Jennings, the grandson of Jessi Colter, pairs up with his daughter Brianna Harness for a new collaboration that also features his mother Jenni Eddy Jennings and Colter herself.
Titled Ace in the Hole, the song stands as a love letter between father and daughter, and the accompanying video assembles Colters side of the Jennings dynasty. Prior to marrying Waylon Jennings in 1969, Colter was married to guitar great Duane Eddy, with whom she had the daughter Jenni Eddy Jennings. Struggle Jennings (born Will Harness) is the son of Jenni Eddy; his daughter and chief duet partner here is Brianna Harness.
Will Harness a.k.a. Struggle Jennings has written and produced a beautiful love song, Colter writes in an email. Its truly amazing to have done this with so many generations of my family involved.
Ace in the Hole, the video for which was filmed in the deserts of Arizona, where Colter lives, is the second release from Harness and Struggles Sunny Days EP. Youre my ace in the hole for the cards I was dealt, goes the chorus, before Colter comes in with words of encouragement: When you lift me up, theres no way I can fall.

I wrote this song about the women in my life who have been my strength through some tough times. Then I got the same women to sing it, says the rap artist Struggle, who served time in jail and documented the experience on his 2013 album I Am Struggle.

Last summer, she and her father duetted on the song Bad Company. Struggle Jennings will release his new album The Widows Son on February 15th. Colter, meanwhile, is a key figure in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museums new Outlaws & Armadillos exhibit. Her only son with Waylon Jennings, the country artist and producer Shooter Jennings, released his eponymous Shooter album last year.
