Watch Extended Trailer for HBOs Rock Hall 2015 Special


The 2015 Rock and Roll Hall of Fameinduction ceremony wont air on HBO until May 30th, but the network has unveiled an extended trailer from the all-star event. This years ceremony, held on April 18th, honored Green Day, Ringo Starr, Lou Reed, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Bill Withers and the 5 Royales.

You cant get in until 25 years after youve had your first hit. Well Im way passed that, Starr jokes in the extended trailer. But here we are, peace and love. Starrs Beatles bandmate Paul McCartney inducted the drummer into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with a moving speech, while guitarist Joe Walsh stopped by during the performance portion of Starrs induction. Im here because Ringo is my brother-in-law, and so Im family, and Im here to share the familys joy, Walsh says.

Green Day belongs in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for sure, Pete Wentz, who along with his Fall Out Boy bandmates welcomed the Dookie crew into the Rock Hall, tells HBO. I think theyve defined themselves over 20 years. The legacy is insane. In addition to the incredible list of inductees, this years ceremony also featured performances by Miley Cyrus, Beck, Karen O, Gary Clark Jr., Zac Brown, Patti Smith and many more.

The HBO special will also feature all of the star-studded jam sessions from the induction ceremony, from Dave Grohl, Miley Cyrus, Tommy James and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts rocking out to Crimson & Clover to Stevie Wonder, John Legend and Bill Withers singing Lean On Me to the ceremony-ending superjam. At this show, youre getting the best of many generations played by some of the best, its pretty incredible, Legend says of the Rock Hall induction ceremony.
