No word yet on who will play the titular executioner, but as Deadline reported last fall, the show will featureSons of Anarchystar, and Sutters wife, Katey Sagal, though nothing isknown about her role. No other casting decisions for the show have been announced, though Sutters SOA cohort Paris Barclay has signed on to direct and executive produce the pilot.

While Sutter recently turned in the pilot script for The Bastard Executioner, he admitted to Rolling Stone he wasnervous about the possibility of finally having some downtime. When Im not writing, I dont quite know who I am, Sutter said. Im lost a little bit. Its like, what am I? Who am I? What am I doing? I dont do well. Idle hands and all. Im a little bit fucked up. But its part of my charm.
