New RoboCop Trailer Brings Mechanical Carnage

Its an age-old ethical debate considered in the brand new trailer forRoboCop, a remake of the 1987 movie, that is set to hit theaters in 2014.The clip opens with Jacksons corporate rant about how successful American machines have been in promoting peace abroad. Michael Keatons Raymond Sellars concurs, noting that while citizens of the Middle East might put up with intimidating robots patrolling their streets, Americans want something more relatable, with emotions.The solution: Stick a human inside a machine.

Soon after, we see mild-mannered officer Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) brutally burned in a car bombing, after which he wakes up to find himself half-man, half-machine a nearly all-chrome crime-fighting menace. The trailer shows off some pretty outrageous carnage and action sequences, like a fighter jet blasting away at a city skyline after RoboCops wiring starts to get a little, well frazzled. Not to mention there are some brief of The Wires Michael K. Williams as a fellow police officer and Gary Oldman as RoboCops creator, Dr. Denentt Norton, who gets choked out by his own robotic progeny. RoboCop will hit theaters and IMAX on February 12th, 2014.
