Lifetime Developing Unauthorized Beverly Hills 90210 Flick

The unauthorized story behind all your favorite Nineties television shows will soon be fodder for Lifetime films as the network has announced plans to bring a TV movie about Beverly Hills 90210 to the small screen. Lifetimes latest dip in schlocky, nostalgic-soaked programming comes on the heels of their 2014 hit The Unauthorized Saved By the Bell Story and the upcoming movie about the making of Full House.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lifetime said their 90210 biopic, currently titled The Unauthorized Beverly Hills 90210 Story, will show the roller coaster ride of the programs first four seasons, highlighting the drama between cast members and producers both on and off-set. The movie will include, according to the films creators, the series journey from several near-cancellations to its massive success and imprint in the cultural zeitgeist and lasting impression it has made on millions of people to this day.

By focusing only on the first four seasons of Beverly Hills 90210s 10-year run, Lifetime is suggesting that their biopic will likely revolve around actress Shannon Doherty, who was a tabloid fixture during her tenure as Brenda Walsh on the Fox series. Vanessa Parise will direct the 90210 film, which will be scripted by Jeff Roda. No casting decisions have been announced yet, but if this film is anything like Lifetimes Saved By the Bell and Full House flicks, 90210 fans will surely be enraged by the actors chosen to portray Jason Priestly, Luke Perry, Jennie Garth, Tori Spelling and Ian Ziering.

Lifetime hasnot announced an airdate for The Unauthorized Beverly Hills 90210 Story. However, its not just Nineties TV biopics over at the network: Lifetime will spooftheir own overly dramatic cinematic offerings when they broadcast Will Ferrell and Kristen WiigsA Deadly Adoptionon June 20th.
