The 39th season of Saturday Night Live has seen its ups and downs sincepremiering on September 28th, with Kerry Washington stunning America with her lively shennanigans and Josh Hutcherson boring audiences with his genial, smirk-free presence. But 2014 looks promising and fans have high hopes with two big January hosts already booked: Drake this weekend and Jonah Hill on the 25th. Im actually really excited for Drake, says Bobby Moynihan, a SNL cast member since 2008. I think hell be like Bruno Mars one of those guys who youre really excited for. Come the end of the month, Bobby and the gang will reunite with Hill, a newly minted Oscar nominee making his third appearance on the program. Hell be a good time. When it comes to the writers room, Moynihan says SNL staffers are percolating with ideas for both guests. I have an idea for a character that Ill do with Drake someone Ive done before that I feel hes really good for, he says. Its this older woman, Janet, thats very sexually aggressive and self-deprecating. And she always goes after hunks, so Drake is good for that.Moynihan, playing the character, has chased Channing Tatum (in 2012) and Adam Levine (last year). Theyre just mystified by her, even though shes an awful person.

For Hills return, Moynihans relying on a trending topic and an old favorite. Jonahs done the show a bunch, so he has recurring characters, he says. But Im trying to figure out a Wolf of Wall Street skit where Im a guy with huge teeth thats asking, Why are you making fun of me? Jordan Belfort the guy who its based on he has teeth out to here. But Im sure a million people are making that joke. Should that get cut for time, Moynihan has faith in Hills existing repertoire: I wonder if hell do that little Jewish boy again. Hes referring to six-year-old Adam Grossman, the little kid thats too smart for his own good (and out at Benihana with his father, Bill Hader, and his new girlfriend). But I dont know if well do it since Bill left. Maybe well have someone else do it. Or better yet maybe well bring Bill back.
