Watch Andy Samberg Heckle Jimmy Fallons Pina Colada Song

A heckling Andy Samberg thwarts Jimmy Fallons late-night serenade of Escape(The Pia Colada Song) in a bizarre sketch from Tuesdays Tonight Show. Peter (Fallon), decked out in a mushroom haircut, earrings and piano tie, smoothly croons Rupert Holmes 1979 soft-rock hit with Samberg interrupting at every vocal pause to guess lyrics and shout random nonsense.

I was tired of my lady, the singer opens, with his rival countering, Why? They continue,Weve been together too long (What was your relationship like?),Like a worn-out recording (Of what, funny animal sounds?),Of a favorite song (That makes more sense).

The hecklers interruptions vary from astute (observing Who would like that? when Peter sings aboutgetting caught in the rain as a pleasurable activity) to flat-out surreal (revealing that he has a literal half a brain with him in a jar). Sambergs character also ponders Peters use of the phrase old lady, repeatedly asking whether the song is about the protagonists mom.

Samberg, who recently co-hosted the 2019 Golden Globes with Sandra Oh, was on-hand promoting the upcoming sixth season of Brooklyn Nine Nine, which premieres Thursday, January 10th on NBC.
