See Malumas Upbeat Performance of HP on Fallon

Colombian singer Maluma took the stage at The Tonight Show to perform his dance-y single HP, a track off his upcoming album 11:11. The musician was joined by his band and two backup singers for the Spanish-language single and clearly enjoyed the performance, grinning and dancing along with the beat.

Maluma also sat down to discuss his recent work with Madonna with host Jimmy Fallon. The singer recounted how he was tapped to join Madonna on her Madame Xsingle Medelln and how the pair performed the track with holograms during the Billboard Music Awards. That was crazy, he said. It was like, one week of doing rehearsals. I couldnt see the Madonnas on the stage so I had to learn every step so I could dance with her, with the four Madonnas I had over there. I had to fake it.

11:11, which features collaborations with Madonna, Ricky Martin, Ty Dolla $ign and others, is out Friday May 17th. Maluma previously told Rolling Stone that the inspiration for HP came to him in a hotel room in Bolivia. I have friends in Colombia where Im from, and these girls were saying they were tired of douchebags, tired of these guys that dont respect them and give them the place that they deserve, the singer said. That stayed in my mind.

The singer is set to embark on a North American tour, the 11:11 Tour, this fall in support of his new album. The trek starts September 6th in San Diego and wraps November 9th in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and will include stops at Madison Square Garden and The Forum.
