Weekend Rock Question: What Is the Best Movie of the 1980s?

With remakes of RoboCop and Endless Love hitting theaters this weekend, our thoughts are turning back to one of our most glorious decade of cinema: the Eighties. It was a more innocent time for America, where outrageously racist characters like Long Duk Dong and Short Round didnt draw a hint of controversy and six Police Academy movies were unleashed on the public, even though the original didnt hit until 1984.

Now we have a question for you: What is your favorite movie of the 1980s? Any film that arrived in theaters between January 1st, 1980 and December, 31st 1989 is eligible. Feel free to vote for something super highbrow like Gandhi, something super lowbrow like Porkys or something right in between like, say, Raising Arizona. There are thousands upon thousands of movies to choose from, but please only vote once and only for a single movie.
