Watch SNL Honor Barack Obama With Touching To Sir, With Love

Saturday Night Live honored former president Barack Obama with a touching rendition of the 1967 single To Sir, With Love performed by SNLs Cecily Strong and Sasheer Zamata.

A tribute to Obamas eight years of service to America, the song originally sung by Lulu and featured in the Sidney Poitier film To Sir, With Love boasts appreciative lyrics like How do you thank someone, who has taken you from crayons to perfume? / It isnt easy, but Ill try while also signaling an end of an era.

On the chorus, Strong sang, If you wanted the sky I would write across the sky in letters that would soar a thousand feet high: To sir, with love.

The understated, moving tribute was reminiscent of SNLs post-Election Day rendition of Hallelujah, with Kate McKinnon, as Hillary Clinton, performing the track alone while simultaneously remembering Leonard Cohen, who died earlier that week.
