Watch Bill Hader, Jimmy Fallon Reach Spit-Take Glory on Tonight Show

Jimmy Fallon has turned the spit-take into an art form onThe Tonight Show. On Thursday night, the host teamed with fellow SNLalumBill Haderfor Point Pleasant Police Department, an Eighties cop show parody which found the two comedians projectile-spitting food at each others faces as they pronounce words beginning with P.

Hader was ostensibly promotingTrainwreck, his new filmwith Amy Schumer, but in honor of Throwback Thursday, Fallon reminisced about his glory days with Hader on Point Pleasant, a show abouttwo detectives who couldnt see eye to eye and always end up in messy situations. Most people probably think of us as comedians, but this was a very intense show a drama, Hader adds.

The P-driven dialogue becomes nonsensical throughout, as the duo take turns hurling various snacks. I was pruning my petunias, accidentally punctured my pinky, Fallon says in the first segment, filled with coffee and crackers. We speak politely to our peers, capiche? Hader interjects. The bit proceeds in that format, with Hader and Fallon cutting back and forth between fake clips which they create in real-time and desk banter.

Later, the pair debate the merits of Pepsi and Perrier, and Hader warns of aparticular problem with predatory poultry. And the food grows messier, as they spit various milkshakes, apples, potato chips and chocolate pudding barely controlling their laughter.Hader evens sneaks in a spit-take for his oldSNLpal, Tonight Show announcerSteve Higgins.
