Tuesdays Maya & Marty, feature a sketch parody of FX coming up with a followup to their smash true crime series The People v O.J. Simpson. They pickGawker v. Hulk Hogan, thelegal battlebetween the media company and former pro wrestler. The sketchfinds WWE star John Cena competing with O.J. Simpson star David Schwimmer (Martin Short) for the Hogan role.
The People v. O.J. Simpson was huge for us, says an FX executive (Maya Rudolph). But I think Hulk Hogan v. Gawker is going to be even bigger. All we need is our Hulk. Cena, decked out in Hogans trademark yellow and red, performs a series of flexes and Yeah, brother! impressions, but the network heads are more impressed by Schwimmers Ross Geller-esque take on the wrestling icon.
The actors stage a surreal rehearsal featuring James Van Der Beek, Rosie Perez (Eva Longoria) and proving the network cant enough of their previous hit O.J. Simpson (Kenan Thompson).
