Were halfway through 2013s blockbuster season and Marvel has already begun stoking the fire for next year. Today, they revealed the first poster for Captain America: The Winter Soldier on their Pinterest page.
The image shows Captain Americas iconic shield battered and scraped, hinting at the darker themes of the sequel. It will find Chris Evans super-soldier Steve Rogers not only figuring out how to navigate contemporary American life but also facing off against the titular Winter Soldier, an assassin who happens to be his brainwashed best friend.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier follows up last summers TheAvengersas well as 2011s Captain America: The First Avenger and will open in theaters on April 4th, 2014. As Entertainment Weekly reports, Marvel Studios president of production, Kevin Feige, has described the new movie as an homage to paranoid thrillers of the 1970s.
