Cee Lo

Following a year filled with legal issues related to a drug charge, Cee Lo Greensays hes grown as a person and artist and hes ready to return as a coach for NBC singing competition The Voice. Ive talked very possibly about doing The Voice again, Green told the Associated Press. So I just kind of put that out there, wishful thinking, kind of willing it. Because I would love to do it again.

Green pleaded no contest in August 2014 to one felony count of furnishing a controlled substance a charge stemming from a July 2012 incident in which a woman accused the singer of slipping ecstasy into her drink. He recently completed his court-ordered 360 hours of community service and remains on probation.

The Gnarls Barkley/Goodie Mob vocalist faced public backlash following the plea when he tweeted, If someone is passed out theyre not even WITH you consciously, so WITH implies consent. People who have really been raped REMEMBER!!! (Green was not charged with rape, as prosecutors found the sex to be consensual.)

Green apologized for his comments this summer, calling his actions highly irresponsible and admitting he was most certainly not thinking, not considering whom [he] might offend. Now, speaking with the AP, hes labeled the incident a very redefining moment in [his] personal and professional life.

I get in front of my creator, humbled, and I ask, What does this mean? What is this supposed to mean for me? What am I supposed to learn from it?' he said. And [to] have that revealed and have it bestowed upon me is a blessing, of sorts.

The singer, an original coach duringThe Voices debut 2011 season, left the showlast year. Before attempting a TV return, Green hopes to reacquaint with the music community on his latest LP,Heart Blanche, out November 6th. His latest sample from the album is the soulful Mother May I, which finds Green crooning in thick vocal harmonies over gospel organ. I got one chance, darling, to do whatever it is Im supposed to do, he sings.
