Watch Manic First Trailer for FXs X-Men Spinoff Legion

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has already conquered the big screen, network television and Netflix, and next theyll expand to cable television in the form of FXs Legion, an X-Men spinoff. The series is not due to air until 2017 but Marvel came to Comic-Con with the first trailer for Legion, spearheaded by Fargo creator Noah Hawley.

The series, like the comic book its based on, revolves around David Haller, a schizophrenic man riddled with mental illness and mutant powers. (Haller is the son of the X-Mens Professor Charles Xavier in the comics, but its unclear if the FX series will tie that thread).

In the trailer, viewers get a glimpse at Legions split personalities at one point, Hallers involved in a dance sequence and special abilities, like telekinesis, pyrokinesis and the ability to rewind time.

Dan Stevens portrays Legion in the FX series, while Aubrey Plaza, Katie Aselton and Fargo vets Jean Smart and Rachel Keller also play significant roles. Legionbegins its eight-episode run in early 2017.
