The Worst Movies of April

April has brought warmer weather and plenty of rain, but its also served up some stinky films. Peter Travers breaks down the months scum bucket with lemons including The Big Wedding, which boasts big stars like Robert De Niro and Diane Keaton, and worn-down franchises like Scary Movie 5. Oblivion and Terrence Malicks To the Wonder also get thrown into the scum bucket.

Oblivion Suffers From Derivative Elements

The months worst loser, though, is Michael Bay and Pain and Gain, starring the Rock and Mark Wahlberg. Bay showed the film to every other critic in the United States but left out Travers, who had to see the movie on opening morning. He has again done what Michael Bay does and bring stupidity to the fore, Travers says. Though the crime comedy has a quality story for base material, Bay fuddles through the plot. Here, Michael Bay believes hes doing social satire, Travers says. But instead, I think hes identifying with the stupid, imbecile, roid-rage morons.
