After envisioning a nightmarish reality where Donald Trump is president, The Simpsons promise to continue to poke fun at the Republican nominee with a Season 28 episode inspired by the moguls disastrous Trump University.
In the episode titled The Caper Chase, Springfields resident billionaire Mr. Burns starts his own for-profit university and forces his power plant employees including presumably Homer Simpson to become professors at the university. Neil deGrasse Tyson, Suze Orman, Jeopardy! champion Ken Jennings and Seinfeld star Jason Alexander will provide guest voices on the episode, which wont air until well after Election Day in 2017.
I think it holds up if youve heard of Trump University or not, Simpsons showrunner Al Jean told the Wall Street Journal. The for-profit colleges arent going away. We try to do things that are funny to people watching them then, but I always try to think of things that will be funny five years from now.
Other Season 28 plans for The Simpsons include the series 600th episode their annual Treehouse of Horror episode airing October 16th plus shows dedicated to Simpsons family trips to Boston and Cuba. The Simpsons previously announced that the hour-long Season 28 premiere focuses on a hip-hop homage to The Great Gatsby with guests Keegan-Michael Key and Taraji P. Henson.
