Watch Dana Carvey Show Off Dance Move David Bowie Taught Him

Dana Carvey brought his arsenal of impressions to Conan Tuesday night to coincide with thepolitical primaries. During his interview, the comedian also shared memories from his days as a cast member on Saturday Night Live, which included memorable run-ins with Mick Jaggerand David Bowie.

Carvey encountered Bowie by chance one evening after an SNL episode. The singer, who was smoking weed with Jagger at the time, invited Carvey and two other comedians out dancing. Unsurprisingly, Bowie was at home on the dance floor, and he was gracious enough to teach an awkward Carvey how to execute a 360 degree spin, which the comedian reenacts in the clip.

The CFDA Awards also remembered Bowie this week, honoring the singer for his groundbreaking work in fashion. Tilda Swinton accepted the Board of Directors tribute award on Bowies behalf, and she phrased her subsequent speech as if she were talking to him directly: We want to tell you that we miss you, but how very happy we all are that you came by.

Along with parodies of Donald Trump, Bernie Sanders, and the Clintons, Carvey also teased a new skit about the Beatles, imagining a conversation in which Paul McCartney explains Kanye West to John Lennon: Remember when you said the Beatles were more popular than Jesus? He thinks he is Jesus! Carvey promised that the full bit will appear in a stand-up special arriving on Netflix in the fall.
