Fantastic Four Prepare for Future in New Trailer


The Fantastic Four will stretch, sneak, blazeand clobber their way back into movie theaters this summer, and now the latest iteration of Marvels first band of genetically modified misfits have a properly epic trailer to mark the occasion.

The clip features a grave monologue ostensibly delivered by Dr. Franklin Storm (played by Reg E. Cathey), who waxes on humankinds insatiable need to discover, invent and build. As he speaks, we get our first lookat thesuperheroes-to-be Miles Teller as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Kate Mara as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm/The Thing and Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm/Human Torch as they prepare to launch into space.

But with every new discovery, there is risk, there is sacrifice and there are consequences, Dr. Storm says asthe action begins: A handful of explosions and dramatic poses, plus quick snippets of the Human Torch bursting into flame, The Thing busting out of the rock hes encased inand Mister Fantastic extending his reach for the first time.

As ScreenCrushpoints out, Fantastic Four producer Simon Kinberg told Colliderin a recent interview that the first trailer would feature a special Easter egg for fans. That treat is likely the numbers 23.21.190.125, which appear briefly on the bottom left as Sue Storm looks at a handful of computer screens. Plug those numbers into a browser address bar and itll open a Wikipedia page on Latveria the fictional country ruled over by the Fours arch nemesis Dr. Doom.

In that same interview with Collider,Fantastic FourdirectorJosh Trank (Chronicle) confirmed thatfamed composer Philip Glass will score the film withMarco Beltrami. Though Glass has a long history of writing music for film earning three Oscar nominations forThe Hours,Kundun andNotes on a ScandalFantastic Four marks his first superhero blockbuster; Beltrami, on the other hand, is well versed, providing scores for over-the-top action films likeThe Hurt Locker,Terminator 3andSnowpiercer.
