While promoting the 20thanniversary reissue of Jagged Little Pill, Alanis Morissette has been refurbishing her classic hit, Ironic. Following a clucking cover with Meghan Trainor on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, the singer-songwriter paired up with James Corden to debut a more currenttake on the track.
For their Late Late Show duet, Corden and Morissette revived the singers thick braid and redski cap look from the songs video while singing aboutTinder, Facebook and Snapchat. Theres free office cake on the first day of your diet, Corden sings early in the track. Its like they announce a new iPhone the day after you buy it.
Later in the cover, the pair begin to playfully jab each other after Morissette sings a line about the lack of women hosting late-night shows. Its 10,000 male late-night hosts when all you want is just one woman, seriously, she sings directly at Corden. Its like singing the duet of your dreams and then Alanis Morissette is shouting at you, Corden responds jokingly.
