FXX to Launch SimpsonsWorld Online to Coincide With Marathon

FXX has come up with the perfect solution for anyone suffering from a Simpsons hangover two months after it airs all 552 episodes of the series for 12 days straight: the hair of the dog. In October one month after the marathon, which runs from August 21st to Labor Day the network is opening up SimpsonsWorld, which it describes as the ultimate Simpsons digital experience. Variety reports that authenticated users will be able to access every episode of the show through SimpsonsWorld.com and its FXNow apps on iOS, Xbox and Android devices as well as Smart TVs and similar devices. The site will allow fans to create playlists, share Simpsons clips and explore Springfield and its citizens.

The Simpsons Are Killing Off a Major Character; See Who We Think Should Make Their Last Exit from Springfield

FXX also plans on scheduling episodes of the show throughout the week and air eight-episode mini-marathons on Sundays, beginning September 2nd. Those Sunday marathons will run up until a new Simpsons episode premieres on Fox that night.

The 26th season of the series will air on September 28th, and it is promising some big changes in Springfield immediately. Thats because a major character of the series will die during the premiere, titled A Clown in the Dumps. Al Jean, the producer who broke the news that a character would die this year, has kept mum on which character it would be, though the title suggests Krusty the Clown, and he reiterated his clues that it would be obvious and voiced by someone who won an Emmy for his or her work on the show. It turned out bigger than we thought it was going to be, Jean said of the episode. Its not going to be this bloodbath where they all get murdered.
