Stephen Colbert examined President Donald Trumps nerve-wracking handling of the crisis with Iran, as well as his questionable word choice on Twitter, on The Late Show Monday.
After Iran shot down an unmanned U.S. drone last Wednesday, Trump approved a retaliation strike but called it off at the last possible minute. Colbert fought through a series of dry heaves while trying to commend Trump for doing the right thing, eventually offering this praise: This is the first thing that Trump has ever ordered that he did not finish.
Later, Trump tweeted that he called off the strike because he wanted to avoid casualties a fine sentiment, Colbert noted, though he added he was a bit distracted by Trumps description of the missiles as cocked and loaded.
