Watch Chilling, Creepy Trailer for Netflixs New Black Mirror Episodes

After Netflix announced it had commissioned a third season of Black Mirror, the techno-dystopian British sci-fi anthology series that has been likened to a Twilight Zone for the 21st Century, fans have been eagerly awaiting more details. Now, with the release of its trailer, we finally get some hints at what we may be in store.

The six new episodes from creator Charlie Brooker look as disturbing as hoped for, with characters reacting to virtual reality simulators, social media addictions, computer surveillance and intense battle scenarios. Singularity is when computers learn to outsmart man as women did years ago, one character says, over a montage of scenes involving Wyatt Russell becoming a next-level gamer (You realize theres a surgery involved, a recruiter tells him not a good sign), Halt and Catch Fires Mackenzie Davis wandering through an Eighties-themed nightclub and Bryce Dallas Howard getting advice on her social-media profile from a life advisor. (That installment, titled Nosedive, was written by Parks and Recreation vets Rashida Jones and Michael Schur.)

Season Three episodes were directed by Joe Wright (Atonement), Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane) and James Watkins (The Woman in Black), and feature a cast of American and British actors that include Cherry Jones (Transparent), Jerome Flynn (Game of Thrones), Michael Kelly (House of Cards) and Malachi Kirby (Roots).

The new season of Black Mirror debuts October 21st on Netflix.
