Watch Gary Clark Jr.s Jaw-Dropping ACL Performance of Grinder


Gary Clark Jr.tears through hismid-tempo blues ripper, Grinder,during a powerful homecoming concert in Austin set to air on the next episode of Austin City Limits.

In the clip, Clark Jr. sprints easily up and down the neck of his guitar while singingrueful verses about the never-ending pursuit of a dollar, a message bolstered by the ominous bleating of his horn trio. Clark Jr. also delivered a stirring, striving rendition of The Healing, another cut from his recent albumThe Story ofSonny Boy Slim.

Both performances were taken from Clark Jr.s ACL episode, which will also feature Australian rocker Courtney Barnett and airs this Saturday, October 31st, on PBS stations.

So far,Austin City Limits 41st season has featured performances from Cassandra Wilson, Sturgill Simpson, Asleep at the Wheel and Don Henley. AfterClark Jr. and Barnetts episode will be TV on the Radio and the War on Drugs (November 7th), James Taylor (November 14th) and a presentation of the 2015 Americana Music Festival (November 21st).

Clark Jr. has a handfulof North American gigs on his plate before heading to Europe in November. Hell play several West Coast shows in December too, before officially kicking off an extensive North American trek February 18th, 2016 in St. Petersburg, Florida.
