Cage, portrayed by Mike Colter, previously showcased his super strength and impenetrable skin during a multi-episode run on Netflixs Jessica Jones, and in this scene from Luke Cage, the towering superhero uses those assets in a face-off with the criminal underworld that takes place, fittingly enough, in a boxing gym.

After easily tossing aside a few baddies, Cage encounters a mob boss two gun-toting bodyguards. I guess you guys havent heard about me, have you, Cage asks, referring to his crime-fighting reputation in Harlem. After seemingly absorbing and ricocheting dozens of bullets, Cage quips to the stunned assailants, Im about sick of always having to buy new clothes.

As Rolling Stone previously reported, Luke Cagefeatures new music courtesy of hip-hop producer Adrian Younge and A Tribe Called Quest member Ali Shaheed Muhammad. We have a lot of different musical appearances, but at the same time, weve got the Marvel action. Weve got drama, Luke Cage showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker told Rolling Stone. I would like this to be, I mean, I know this is heavy but, The Wire of Marvel television, because we really deal with a lot of different issues.

At Comic Con, Coker also said that Luke Cage represents the Wu-Tangification of the Marvel Universe. Colter added that his characters hoodie is an homage to Trayvon Martin.
