Portlandiaco-stars Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein have taken their friendship to the next level with the most awkward intimate encounter ever attempted. Were having sex! Were gonna do it! enthuses Armisen in this hilarious clip promoting new episodes of the IFC comedy.
Sitting across from each other on matching beds, the duo break down their carnal-knowledge gameplan analyzing their positioning (I picture eyes closed, maybe hands out to the side, says Brownstein) and teasing some potential maneuvers (69, dry humping). Do you need magazines? Brownstein asks her soon-to-be-lover. Well, I just have The New Yorker.
The sex is even clumsier and more absurd. (Thats me, Armisen says, looking down at this crotch.) And the climax is satisfying for neither party, especially when Armisen announces his misfire with a deadpan Tada! and coldly asks Brownstein to help him clean up.
