See Agent Dale Cooper Return in Latest Twin Peaks Teaser

Days after Showtime formally announced the premiere date for the upcoming Twin Peaks revival, the series has shared another haunting teaser, this time focused on Kyle MacLachlans beloved protagonist Special Agent Dale Cooper.

In the brief 30-second clip, soundtracked by composer Angelo Badalamentis theme, the viewer is shown a trio of eerie scenic shots of the titular Pacific Northwest town, including one that travels down a dark dirt road at night into pitch-blackness.

Then, out of the shadows, emerges Cooper in his trademark black suit. The trailer next fades to the Twin Peaks welcome sign and the words The Return.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that the Twin Peaks revival which recruited nearly the entire original cast of the series and film Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me alongside new visitors like Eddie Vedder, Trent Reznor, Naomi Watts, Amanda Seyfried and more would premiere May 21st with a two-hour episode.

In total, 18 hours worth of Twin Peaks, directed entirely by David Lynch, would air on the network. As evidenced by another teaser, Lynch will also reprise his role of FBI bureau chief Gordon Cole on the much-anticipated revival.

At the Television Critics Association panel on Monday, Showtime president David Nevins called the Twin Peaks revival the pure-heroin version of David Lynch and said the new series rewards close watching. Nevins also said the return boils down to Agent Dale Coopers odyssey to Twin Peaks.
