Ignored by the major labels who wanted nothing to do with a black rock group from Detroit (let alone one named Death), the group ended up calling it quits and let their master recordings collect dust in an attic; they were rediscovered decades later and reissued on Drag City in 2009. A Band Called Death will be available on Video On Demand May 24th and will open in theaters on June 28th through Drafthouse Films.
