Peter Travers: The Bourne Legacy Doesnt Feel Right Without Matt Damon

This is Lins first time helming a Bourne film, but he has plenty of experience in the action genre. Lin directed the last four titles of theFast & Furiousseries, including this years Fast & Furious 6.However, he has not been involved in the seventh installment, which is now in flux after the tragic death of star Paul Walker last weekend.

Lin will produce the still-untitled Bourne project for Perfect Storm Entertainment, along with Captivates Jeffrey Weiner and Ben Smith and returning producer Frank Marshall (who worked on 2012s The Bourne Legacy, the series fourth installment). Further details of the cast and crew (including the projects writer) are currently unknown.

The first three Bourne films, which starred Matt Damon, enjoyed strong critical reception. Legacy (which introduced Renner) had a strong box office showing, including a $40.3 million opening weekend, but reviews werent as kind. Rolling Stone critic Peter Travers called it a commercial venture, adding that it (didnt) feel right without Matt Damon.
