Josh Hutcherson Catches Fire in New SNL Promo

Josh Hutcherson catches fire (digitally, anyway) in the new promos for his upcoming hosting gig on Saturday Night Live. The actor, who costars in the upcoming blockbuster sequel The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, shows off his comic timing in a series of riffs with veteran cast member Bobby Moynihan.

The three-minute teaser opens with Moynihan in a jovial mood, congratulating Hutcherson on his hosting gig. I think youre the youngest host weve had in awhile, Moynihan says. What are you, 25? 23? When Hutcherson replies that hes only 21, Moynihan responds by punching the heartthrob in the face.

Elsewhere, the duo continue to develop their comedic rapport via plenty of corny zingers and puns. In one riff, the pair are set ablaze by digital flames, and another features Moynihan redefiningThe Hunger Games altogether: Now let The Hunger Games begin! he shouts. Oh, no thats just what I yell when Im hungry. Its not all about you, Josh!

But the funniest moment comes later on, when the unlikely buddies reminisce about their worst summer jobs. While Hutcherson makes a cheap joke about his time at an ice cream parlor (Things got pretty sticky), Moynihan steals the scene: I used to hold down dogs while they were euthanized, he says, before delivering an especially awkward chuckle-cry.

Hutcherson will host the show this Saturday, November 23rd, accompanied by musical guest Haim. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire hits theaters one day earlier.
