See Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne Stage The Lion King on Corden

James Corden enlisted Rose Byrne and Seth Rogen as part of his theatre company that performs musicals exclusively in a Los Angeles crosswalk on The Late Late Show. Following up the companys performance of Grease on the corner of Genesee and Beverly, the troupe delivered a production of The Lion King.

When Byrne and Rogen show up, its clear Byrne is more invested in musical theater than her Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising co-star. Is it exciting for me to work with movie stars? No, I do this stuff all the time, Corden says during a confessional cutaway. Is it exciting for them putting on the show of their lives? I think so.

When Rogen rehearses, he becomes more and more confused about why hes on a roof learning The Lion King instead of doing a couch interview. Byrne ends up being cast as both Timon and Nala while Corden plays Simba and Rogen is cast as scenery, birds, trees, rocks.

During Crosswalk the Musical: The Lion King, the cast performed every time there was a red light, singing songs like Hakuna Matata and Can You Feel the Love Tonight. Corden was tough on Rogen in particular until the actor became the moon during Can You Feel the Love Tonight. At the end, they were greeted with roses that Corden threw all over the cars before popping a bottle of champagne in celebration.
