Just in time for the forthcoming Full House reboot, Lifetime is planning to explore the on-and-off-screen struggles of the classic Nineties sitcom in The Unauthorized Full House Story, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The networks latest tell-all follows The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story, the soapy exploration of another successful Nineties comedy and its off-screen drama which premiered on the network last fall. Ron McGee, the writer of Unauthorized Saved by the Bell, will also pen the Full House film. Lifetime has not set an air date and will begin casting for the feature immediately.
McGee willhave plenty ofmaterial to cull from thanksto the release of multiple cast memoirs. Jodie Sweetin chronicled her struggle with methamphetamineaddiction in 2010s UnSweetined. Last year, Candace Cameron Bure released Balancing It All: My Story of Juggling Priorities and Purpose,while the shows patriarch Bob Saget penned the less self-help-themed Dirty Daddy: The Chronicles of a Family Man Turned Filthy Comedian.
John Stamos recently confirmed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that a reboot titled Fuller House will premiere on Netflix in 2016. The project will center around the original shows eldest daughter D.J. Tanner (Candace Cameron Bure), whomoves in with her youngest sister Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and childhood friend Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber) afterher husbands death.The rest of the original cast, including the Olsen twins and Bob Saget, are still in talks to appear in some capacity on the rejuvenated series.
