Curb Your Enthusiasm Sets Season Nine Premiere Date

HBO announced Monday that Larry David will officially end his six-year hiatus when Curb Your Enthusiasm returns for its ninth season starting October 1st.

The network formally revealed the Curb revival with a teaser clip where David, in full Roman garb, mocks the necessity of creating a promo in the first place.

As HBO notes, series regulars Jeff Garlin, Susie Essman and J.B. Smoove will rejoin David over the course of the 10-episode season.Curb Your Enthusiasms ninth season premieres October 1st.

In a 2014 interviewwith Rolling Stone, David admitted he wasnt overly optimistic about bringing back Curb, with the comedian admitting the bad aftertaste of the Seinfeld finale made him cautious about giving his own HBO show a proper conclusion.

I got so much grief from the Seinfeld finale, which a lot of people intensely disliked, that I no longer feel a need to wrap things up, David said. I wouldnt say Im mad about it, but it taught me a lesson that if I ever did another show, I wasnt gonna wrap it up.

Since the Golden Globe-winning comedy series last aired in 2011, David wrote and starred in an HBO movie (Clear History), created a Broadway play(Fish in the Dark), played a small role in The Three Stooges reboot and notably satirized Bernie Sanders on multiple occasions on Saturday Night Live, with the comedian and the politician even crossing paths in one sketch.
