Steven Spielbergs Jurassic Park turns21 this year (finally, Brachiosaurus is old enough to drink!) and what better way tomark the occasion than with dino-colored vinyl?

On June 11 the 21stanniversary of the films theatrical debut the pop-culture obsessives at Mondo will release John Williams iconic Jurassic Park soundtrack as a double-LP set. And, in a nod to the dinosaurs roaming Isla Nublar, there are a couple of genetic variations.
One features artwork by illustrator JC Richard, and is pressed on 180-gram black vinyl, save a few randomly inserted copies, which come on Dilophosaurus colored vinyl (thats the frill-necked dinosaur that spits venom in Newmans face, for those keeping score at home).
The second version is limited to 1,000 copies, and is printed on translucent amber vinyl, with new artwork by Dan McCarthy.
Neither edition will be sold in record stores; copies can only be bought through Mondos online shop, though a few will be made available early at a listening party set to be held at their gallery in Austin, Texas (date TBD).
Spielbergs first Park film spawned two successful sequels, and after several lengthy delays, a fourth installment Jurassic World was recently confirmed for aJune 12, 2015 release. Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed) will direct, with Spielberg, Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley serving as producers. Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard and Jake Johnson will star. The vinyl will presumably come sometime in 2036.
