Bryan Cranston, Jimmy Kimmel to Appear in Curb Your Enthusiasm

After a six-year hiatus, Curb Your Enthusiasm is returning for its ninth season and it will boast an all-star cast of guests, including Bryan Cranston, Jimmy Kimmel, Carrie Brownstein, Elizabeth Banks and Nick Offerman, The Hollywood Reporternotes.

Earlier this month HBO announced the comedy shows revival, which is based on a fictionalized version of lead star and creator Larry David. The network previously announced the return of series regulars Jeff Garlin, Susie Essman and J.B. Smoove.

On Wednesday, HBO also announced the return of longtime star Cheryl Hines and recurring guests Richard Lewis, Bob Einstein, Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen. Ed Begley, Jr., Lauren Graham, Nasim Pedrad and Elizabeth Perkins are also slated to appear in the new season.

The outlook for another season or conclusion for Curb Your Enthusiasm initially didnt seem as plausible a couple years ago, with David stating he was apprehensive following the negative reaction to Seinfelds ending. I got so much grief from the Seinfeld finale, which a lot of people intensely disliked, that I no longer feel a need to wrap things up, David said in a 2014 interview. I wouldnt say Im mad about it, but it taught me a lesson that if I ever did another show, I wasnt gonna wrap it up.

However, when he was asked about why he decided to do another season during Wednesdays Television Critics Association press tour, he said via THR,Im not a misser. I dont really miss things, people that much, but I was missing it and I was missing these idiots so I thought, Yeah, what the hell? And I got tired of people asking, Is the show coming back? I couldnt get asked that question anymore and I wasnt ready to say, No, never.'

Season Nine of Curb Your Enthusiasm features 10 episodes and premieres October 1st on HBO.
