Game of Thrones Season Six Teaser Promises Battles and Bloodshed

With the sixth season of Game of Thronesstorming to HBO in under a month, the network unveiled the latest look at the fantasy series upcoming 10 episodes. Like the first red-band trailer for Season Six, the new 30-second teaser promises even more battles and bloodshed as all hell breaks loose in Westeros.

We are sinful creatures. We deserve death. We all do, the High Sparrow, played by Jonathan Pryce, warns in the new teaser amidst rapid-fire images of soaring dragons, sword fights and the Nights King. Game of Thrones returns April 24th.

As A Song of Ice and Fire author George R.R. Martin previously revealed, he did not finish the sixth installment of the literary saga before the sixth season of the HBO series, leading to a situation where many fans worried whether Game of Thrones could potentially spoil the upcoming The Winds of Winter. Martin told fans that while the series producers go their own route in translating his story to the screen, some of The Winds of Winters plot twists could be exposed by Game of Thrones.

Look, I never thought the series could possibly catch up with the books, but it has. The show moved faster than I anticipated and I moved more slowly, Martin wrote. There were other factors too, but that was the main one. Given where we are, inevitably, there will be certain plot twists and reveals in season six of Game of Thrones that have not yet happened in the books. For years my readers have been ahead of the viewers. This year, for some things, the reverse will be true. How you want to handle that hey, thats up to you.
