The preview which premiered during Sunday nights episode ofGame of Thrones only lasts 36 seconds, but Sookies dramatic monologue offers a thrilling glimpse into the challenges facing the Bon Temps community: sick vampires, lunatic religious fanatics and a disinterested government which has left its citizens turning on each other, acting like animals.

One disturbing part shows a local church vandalized, with the words PRAY FOR US SINNERS NOW AND AT THE HOUR OF OUR DEATH AMEN spraypainted on its front. How can this be happening, Sookie asks, in this country, in this day and age, that our government would leave us for dead?
